Organisers have, with a “heavy heart” announced that the Kop Hill Climb will not be going ahead in any form this year.

The organising committee were hoping that, by September, they would be able to stage the iconic event, which sees classic cars and motorbikes storm Kop Hill in Princes Risborough and raises thousands for charity.

They looked at alternatives, but have come to the conclusion that “none of these substitute plans would fulfil the financial and safety criteria essential to a successful event”.

Instead, they are starting to plan the 110th anniversary event in 2021.

In a bid to still help the charities they support every year - who need assistance more than ever because of the virus - an appeal for cash has been launched.
