A YOUNG burglar has been given a suspended sentence after admitting stealing from a home in Chalfont St Peter while the owner was asleep.

Eduard Petrican, 19, of Inwood Avenue, Hounslow, pleaded guilty to one count each of burglary and theft at Aylesbury Crown Court on Thursday, July 23.

He was sentenced at the same hearing to nine months’ imprisonment at a young offenders’ institution suspended for 18 months and ordered to complete 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days, as well as doing 150 hours of unpaid work.

Petrican entered the property overnight between February 6 and 7 in Grange Road, Chalfont St Peter, while the owner was asleep and stole various items.

He was arrested and charged on May 30.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Kerry Hall, based at Amersham police station said: “Burglary is an intrusive crime and victims should feel safe in their own home.

“Petrican pleaded guilty and will now have the opportunity to learn from his actions.
