With another incredibly warm weekend on the cards, Buckinghamshire Council has warned visitors to the county’s country parks not to be tempted to take a dip in lakes or rivers to cool down.
The mercury is set to soar once again this weekend, with temperatures predicted to hit 34 degrees today, 33 degrees on Saturday and 31 on Sunday.
And while the beautiful lakes and rivers the county boasts will certainly look appealing, the council has taken the opportunity to remind people there are hidden dangers.
The council said: “None of the lakes at our country parks are suitable for swimming so please stay safe and stay out of the water.
“Don’t be tempted to cool off in lakes and rivers, there can be hidden dangers beneath the surface of the water.”
The message has been backed by High Wycombe Fire Station crews, who said: "Please take note! Please don’t swim in open water."
