To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the British Red Cross, Amersham Town Council has issued a short piece of text next to a cross-shaped wreath at the memorial garden.
Evelyn Pegley said: “As a Patron of British Red Cross Buckinghamshire, I asked whether Amersham Town Council would include a small part of the garden to help raise awareness of this very special anniversary.

“The award-winning gardens, are visited and admired by countless people, it is hoped that many of them will read the information on the board thereby increasing their knowledge of how the British Red Cross helps people in crisis through the Power of Kindness.
“I am most grateful for their help in permitting the request.”
