This week, we are in Lane End and the surrounding area.
This photo was taken in the late 1960s and is looking south from near the War Memorial on the edge of the common in Wheeler End and the road leading towards Bolter End.
You can clearly see the M40 bridge up ahead, but that view is obscured by trees now.

This second photo is looking south east on Lane End High Street from the junction with The Row.
It was taken circa 1930.
The old cottages on the left have been replaced with a more modern building but the historic street is still recognisable.
