A DRUG dealer caught with hundreds of pounds worth of class A drugs has been spared jail.

Ethan Asiedu had already admitted two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs - heroin and cocaine.

The 19-year-old of Purslane Drive, Bicester, appeared at Oxford Crown Court to be sentenced for those crimes yesterday.

At the hearing prosecutors said that in Bicester on December 30 2018 police became aware of a 'suspicious interaction' involving Asiedu and a man.

Police went on to investigate and searched Asiedu and his home address.

During the investigation they found a haul of heroin and cocaine, valued at about £660 if sold on the street.

Prosecutors called Asiedu a 'street dealer' in the enterprise.

In mitigation Rhianna Fricker, defending, said that her client had secured employment and had care responsibilities for a family member.

She added that he was 'incredibly sorry' for what he had done.

Sentencing, Judge Nigel Daly ordered a two-year jail term, suspended for two years.

Asiedu must also abide by a three-month overnight curfew, perform 180 hours of unpaid work and complete 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

He will also pay court costs of £425 and a victim surcharge.
