Kind-hearted pet owners have donated thousands of tins of food for those who may not be able to afford to buy them for their own furry friends.

An appeal by Jollyes Pet Superstore in High Wycombe saw customers donate more than 3,800 cans of dog and cat food to food banks, community organisations and charities.

The generous donations from pet lovers have been shared out between One Can Trust, Wycombe Food Hub, Chiltern Foodbank, Chesham Community Fridge, Restore Hope, Wycombe Community Fridge, and the Blue Cross.

Tom Waller, manager of the Bellfield Road store that has served the town for more than 13 years, said: “We are delighted that we have been able to support all of these wonderful local organisations, and are so grateful to all of our customers who donated tins.”
