The annual event sees traders across the town get together on one Thursday in December and sell their goods until late at night.

There are also events such as a carol service and ‘special guests’ such as children’s TV character along the High Street.

But due to the ongoing pandemic, which saw so far claimed the lives of over 41,550 in the UK, the Marlow Chamber of Commerce, who organise the event, have decided to cancel this year’s event.

MCoC’s secretary, Jo Braybrooke said: “It doesn’t come as a surprise that we have had to cancel this year’s late-night shopping event.

“It would have been incredibly irresponsible for us to have held it with what is going on, and the safety of everyone is very important.
