A T.REX superfan who set up the world’s only official live tribute band dedicated to Marc Bolan and his band is returning to the stage in 2020 in a bid to transport audiences back to the good old days of the 1970s.

Marc Bolan, with his band T.Rex, was one of the most flamboyant and charismatic stars of the original glam rock era.

With Bolan’s special ingredient of Rock-a-Boogie songs, the band had a string of huge hits throughout the 1970s including Love to Boogie, Telegram Sam, Jeepster and 20th Century Boy.

Tribute band T.Rextasy, which was formed by skilled musician Danielz, is the only band endorsed and approved by Marc Bolan’s family, estate, original ex-members of T.Rex, and Bolan’s catalogue management - and they will be performing at The Elgiva in Chesham on November 20.

Sweeney Entertainments, who are putting on the show, say they are trying to get back some sense of normality after theatres were hit hardest by the coronavirus lockdown.

T.Rextasy’s show - along with another of their productions, Abba Forever on October 30 - will be a trial under new social distancing measures.

It means there will be 100 seats, all an appropriate distance away from each other.

But audiences will be able to escape reality for a couple of hours as they enjoy the skilled musician ship of Danielz on vocals and lead guitar, and the rest of the band - Neil Cross, Rob Butterfield and John Skelton.

They will let the timeless music and legacy of Marc Bolan and T.Rex live on, performing everything from 20th Century Boy to Children of the Revolution as well as Telegraph Sam to Hot Love with superb authenticity.

In 2020, T.Rex were inducted into the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame.

In response to the news, Bill Legend said of T.Rextasy: “You guys have also made it possible over the years, so let me thank you and congratulate you for your own personal passion in keeping Marc and T.Rex alive. Much appreciated and my best wishes to you all.”

Danielz, lead vocalist and lead guitarist, said “I absolutely love playing the songs of T.Rex. It’s the actual buzz one gets of going on stage and giving the audience a live experience. Fans are coming to have a good time, and when I see people smiling and doing just that it makes it really worthwhile.”

The full-on concert showcases all of the hits and more, with both electric and acoustic performances, faithfully recreating the energy and performance of Marc Bolan and T.Rex.
