A new 'cheating map' has revealed the number of people in the area who are having an affair - and Beaconsfield and Amersham both make it into the top 10 across the UK.

The figures are from IllicitEncounters.com, the 'top' affairs dating website.

It shows 585 people from Beaconsfield have signed up to the website, which equals 4.24 per cent of the town's population, putting it second in the 'infidelity index' behind Wilmslow in Cheshire.

Amersham is number 11 on the list, with 666 people signed up - 3.7 per cent of the town's population.

In High Wycombe 1,052 people are reportedly having an affair - up from 962 last year.

Spokesperson Jessica Leoni said: "This is due to lockdown cabin fever - increasing numbers of people have become fed-up with their partners after being stuck together at home for most of this year and even denied a summer holiday in many cases.

"People started dating again and cheating numbers surged as lots of new relationships were forged."

Where else are people cheating in Bucks?

Chesham - 578 people (up from 578 last year)

Aylesbury - 1,060 people (up from 962 last year)

Gerrards Cross - 362 people (up from 327 last year)

Marlow - 600 people (up from 560 last year)

Princes Risborough - 170 (up from 165 last year)

But these figures seem pretty tame compared to some areas of nearby county Berkshire.

In Slough, 1,424 people are signed up to the site, while in Maidenhead 2,180 people are on there.
