THE Inner Wheel of Whitchurch has been busy supporting the 'Great British September Clean' with members litter picking at various spots around the town.
The Great British September Clean is a yearly initiative promoted by Keep Britain Tidy to encourage people to take part in a litter pick around their area, with the event this year taking place from September 11 to September 27.
Sue Fawcett, Inner Wheel president, says that the initiative complimented the work the group already does, alongside Rotary, to maintain a number of gardens and to keep the town looking attractive.
"We aim to help to keep the town looking good and instil a sense of pride which hopefully others will follow," said Sue. "Members really enjoyed getting involved.
"Other recent Inner Wheel projects have involved collecting good quality used toys for distribution by the foodbank and providing emergence bags for the Domestic Abuse Refuge.
"If anyone is interested in joining Inner Wheel for fun and good company contact Sue on 01948 663628."
