One Wetherspoon pub in Beaconsfield is the only pub to be able to serve drinks past the 10pm curfew in the country.

The Hope and Champion, located on the M40 services at Beaconsfield, is exempt from the 10pm closure enforced as part of increased government restrictions to curb the increase in recorded Coronavirus cases.

As reported in The Sun, the pub is classed as 'providing an essential service' as it allows motorway drivers to have food and drink.

Subsequently, the pub can remain open later than the government-enforced curfew.

The pub now closes at 11pm, one hour after the curfew comes into place.
