A READING nursing home which has previously been warned over breaches of safety has continued to mismanage residents' wellbeing.

Jasmine House Nursing Home in Westcote Road was inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in July, who in a report published this week found the facility to 'require improvement'.

2. Alok Sharma’s ‘better jobs’ comment sparks outrage among events workers

READING MP Alok Sharma has outraged workers in the struggling events sector after he suggested that the government could help some of them get “better jobs”.

The business secretary made the comments in Parliament this week, when Edward Miliband accused the government of leaving those workers “out in the cold” after their businesses were “shut down” by coronavirus restrictions.

3. Storm Alex: Heavy rain set to batter Berkshire this weekend

Bracknell and Reading is set to be battered by heavy rain and strong winds with the Met Office issuing a flood warning.

The Met Office has predicted flooding for homes and businesses as well as transport disruption across Bracknell and Reading.

4. Thames Valley Police issue warnings to residents after vehicles damaged and targeted by thieves in Reading

POLICE have issued warnings to residents after vehicles have been damaged and also targeted by thieves in the area.

Thames Valley Police said an offender caused damage to a Hyundai Tucson by smashing the front passenger window in Battalion Way, Thatcham.

5. Plans to close M4 this weekend CANCELLED due to weather forecast

PLANS to close parts of the M4 for resurfacing works this weekend have been cancelled due to the weather forecast.

The M4 eastbound carriageway between junction 13 (Chieveley) and junction 12 (Theale/Reading), was due to close from 9pm on Friday (October 2) through to 6am on Monday (October 5).
