"The decision has been influenced by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has impacted the hospitality and catering sector so adversely and continues to be responsible for an uncertain short term future.

"With the tremendous effort of out loyal staff, we have continued to trade on a home delivery and limited catering level but our view is that this is not sustainable for us over the coming uncertain months.

"We wish to thank you for your support and business over the years. It has been our pleasure and privilege to serve you and we wish you every success in the future."

Company director Dawson Jennings - who's grandfather started the company in 1922 - said: "We will be forever grateful to our loyal staff, our customers and our suppliers who we habe enjoyed working with over the many years.
