A Michelin-star restaurant in Old Amersham has finally reopened after five months away.

Following the closure of all restaurants in the spring due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Artichoke on Market Square decided to extend their hiatus as they revamped the premises.

Run by the husband and wife team of Laurie and Jacqueline Gear, the duo have redesigned their interior, exterior, and menus to give their customers that Michelin-star experience.

The Artichoke’s open kitchen, which is a popular feature of the restaurant, has been upgraded with the installation of a state-of-the-art induction suite, faded sage format tiles on the walls with an artichoke green mosaic to finish the pass.

New blinds have also been put up in the establishment with new patio doors also being added to the original dining room.

Tables have been spaced out to abide by the new social distancing guidelines.

The restaurant has also teamed up with many local artisan producers and craftsmen to help them sell their products.

And following a new partnership, the Artichoke has struck a deal with No 2 Pound Street in Wendover, giving the restaurant exclusive access to rare British artisan cheeses.
