Emergency services were called at 9.50pm last night to reports of a collision involving a silver Subaru people carrier and a white 'heavy goods' vehicle.

The driver of the truck, a 56-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.

Oxford resident David Patchett, who phoned emergency services about the crash, revealed he was first on the scene.

Mr Patchett, who lives in a narrowboat nearby, said he is still 'shaken' by the horrific incident.
