A CARE home rated as ‘inadequate’ earlier in the year is set to go under the microscope once again.
Bracknell Care Home, on Crowthorne Road, was given the Care Quality Commission’s lowest possible rating back in February following a December 2019 inspection.
This came after inspectors found the care home’s service was not safe, effective or well-led.
A CQC report claimed those living at the care home were ‘at risk of avoidable harm’ as medicines were not managed properly, residents were susceptible to falls, and too few staff did not have the necessary expertise.

One carer who had worked at the home and who did not want to be named told the News in February 2019: “What worries me is the residents don’t even have basic needs met.”
“None of us would like to see our grandparents treated like this.
“It is a sad picture.”
The CQC rated Bracknell Care Home in five categories.

In three of these, it rated inadequate and in the other two, care home bosses were told their service ‘required improvement’.
Following the publication of the report, a spokesperson for Four Seasons, which runs Bracknell Care Home, told the News the issues raised from the report were “not reflective” of the “high standards we expect”.
They added: “We have thoroughly reviewed the findings in this report and have developed an action plan to address the specific concerns highlighted by the inspectors.

Now the care home will get a chance to show off any progress it has made after the CQC announced its inspectors would be taking another look at the care home in an upcoming review.
At the time of the publication of the report, Bracknell Care Home was placed into special measures, meaning the service was under review and would be re-inspected in six months.
The CQC said if “significant improvements” were not made, it would move to stop the care home from operating.
