A huge new industrial estate in High Wycombe has finally been completed.

Work on the 40:40 Link - a 91,000 sq ft industrial estate in Mill End Road - has finished, and four of the units have already been sold.

Plans for the new 10-unit estate on land owned by Verco Office Furniture were controversial when they were first proposed back in 2018, with Sands residents raising fears about extra traffic and the "overbearing" nature of the new factories.

Despite their concerns, councillors on the then Wycombe District Council planning committee gave them the go-ahead in June 2018.

Work then got underway on transforming the site - which included de-culverting the River Wye, which runs through the estate - and has now achieved "practical completion".

Chancerygate, which manages the site, says four units have already been sold to Elia International, a supplier of cutlery, china and bar-ware, which is hoping to expand its warehousing and distribution side of the business.

The six remaining units on the site are still available for leasehold.

Chancerygate’s head of development, Alastair King, said: “We are delighted to have completed the development of this complicated site, which included the deculverting and rewilding of a section of the River Wye.

“The quality of the scheme and its strategic location has been endorsed by the commitment of Elia International and the strong levels of demand we are seeing for the other units.”
