The investigation into the rape of an 11-year-old girl has been shelved by police - who say they have "exhausted all possible lines of enquiry".

The child was attacked by a man as she walked along a well-used public footpath between Rookery Meadow and the woods in Watchet Lane, Holmer Green, on June 1, 2019.

Despite police releasing a good description of the attacker, who is described as being around 18-years-old, white and having a distinctive up-turned nose, he has still not been captured - more than a year on.

The sickening attack sent shockwaves through the community, with prominent local figures telling the Bucks Free Press of their anger at the "appalling" incident.
