A post office in Marlow is now selling Christmas stamps for this year.

The town’s post office on Oak Tree Road confirmed the news on Thursday, October 29, and started to sell them on Tuesday, November 3.

In a brief Facebook post, they said: “Christmas [is] coming again....2020.

“All our Christmas stamps will be ready to sell from November 3.

“To avoid [the] Christmas rush and any other emergency lockdown, please do visit our post office.

"We are here to welcome all of you.”

The post office also confirmed that they are the only one in the town to be working full-time during the current health crises.

The news of the Oak Tree Post Office selling Christmas stamps was met with praise by those who live in the area.

One person took to Facebook to say that the post office is ‘the best post office in the area’ and that their service is ‘lovely’.

The post office has been open throughout the pandemic and has offered its services to help the elderly, needy, and vulnerable in and around the Marlow area.

They have done this by delivering items such as bread and milk to their elderly customers.

The shop has been in the town for 60 years.

Speaking to the shop during the start of lockdown, they told the Free Press: “We’ve been here for so long that many of our customers who came in as children, now bring in their children and sometimes their grandchildren so we’re really long-standing within our community.

“We’re not family-run but we’re like a family.”
