Around 500 people took part in a ‘Spooky Spider Trail’ at Amersham’s J Brown Funeral Services.

Organised by Ana Brown, who works at the company, the Halloween event was set up after the funeral worker discovered that there were no spooky events taking place in the town due to the ongoing pandemic.

After being ‘disappointed’ by this, Ana took it upon herself to launch the ‘Spooky Spider Trail’, where she encouraged 20 independent businesses to take part.

The event on Saturday, October 31 saw many local businesses drape their premises in Halloween-themed accessories, where many children along with their parents walked across the town dressed up in several costumes.

The children received sweets.

Ana said: “Three weeks ago, I looked into any Covid-safe Halloween events happening in Amersham where our business J Brown Funeral Services is based.

“I was disappointed that nothing was planned so I took it upon myself to organise the Amersham Spooky Spider Trail.

“I spoke to local businesses and by Halloween 20 independent businesses agree to take part.

“We had 400 - 500 people taking part, many in fancy dress and feedback has been tremendous with comments like ‘the town came alight with happy big and little faces.’”
