THE COST to refurbish Marlow Library is valued at £179,000 and the public could have access to the improved facility before Christmas.

The revamped library on Sandygate Road will offer better computer facilities, a new meeting room, self-service technology, and loanable tablets, according to Buckinghamshire Council.

There will also be a bigger, more colourful space for children featuring “lots of low comfortable seating and bean bags, themed seating and a sensory StoryWall”.

A commissioned artist has also created “an original installation inspired by Marlow’s unique identity”.

A spokesperson for Buckinghamshire Council said: “Over the last few months work has been going on to remodel and refurbish the library, and we’re hoping it will reopen to the public in early December – but this will of course be subject to the latest Covid-19 government guidelines.”
