Despite coronavirus taking over the whole country, Santa Claus will still be coming to Amersham this year.

The Amersham Round Table, who have brought Father Christmas around the streets of the town as well as Little Chalfont and Chesham Bois for over 50 years, confirmed that Saint Nick will still be seen in Bucks to try and raise money for several local charities in the area.

But due to the current health crisis which started in the UK in February, the annual tradition has been altered to comply with the current social distancing measures.

Instead of the ‘elves’ knocking doors for donations, all contributions to help nearby causes will be done via a text message or online.

Additionally, the sleigh will be travelling around the towns and villages at a slow place, which will give residents the opportunity to wave at Father Christmas.

It also confirmed that Hazlemere and Holmer Green have been included on Santa’s route for 2020.
