GOOGLE is using location data gathered from phones to help public health officials understand how people’s movements have changed in response to the global coronavirus pandemic.

The reports use data from people who have opted in to storing their location history with Google to help illustrate the degree to which people are adhering to government instructions.

The Covid-19 Community Mobility Report dated November 22 looks at data between Sunday, October 11, and Sunday, November 22.

More people have been visiting parks with the data showing there has been a 46 per cent rise in visits compared to the baseline.

Residential areas have also seen a rise in visits with the figures showing there has been a 13 per cent rise compared to the baseline.

Fewer people have been using public transport such as buses and trains ( a 51 per cent decrease compared to the baseline).

Visits to retail and recreation have also decreased with the data showing there has been a 58 per cent decrease compared to the baseline.

Bracknell Forest will face tier two coronavirus restrictions when lockdown ends next week (December 2).

The area will be on 'high alert' which means you can't meet other households indoors unless in a support bubble and a maximum of six people can meet outside.

Bars and pubs must close unless operating as a restaurant too.

However, shops including non-essential shops can open.

Tier placements will be reviewed every fourteen days and will be based on five criteria: case numbers across all age groups, cases in those aged over 60, the rate of rise or fall in infections, the percentage of those tested who have the virus, and the projected pressures on the NHS locally.
