As the county leaves lockdown behind for the new strengthened Tier 2 restrictions, we take a look at the latest coronavirus infections and death statistics in Buckinghamshire.

Covid-19 cases:

According to Buckinghamshire Council's handy interactive Covid-19 dashboard, 72 new daily cases were reported in the county on December 1. 

The 72 new cases, broken down by area: 

  • Aylesbury Vale - 31
  • Wycombe - 21 
  • Chiltern - 12 
  • South Bucks - 8 

The total reported cases up until November 30 in the county is currently 7,532

The day when the highest number of new infections was reported since the outbreak began was November 2, with 166 cases. 

But on November 29, that number was 63, and on November 30, the latest data available, only six new infections were reported. 

The current weekly rate of infection per 100,000 members of the population in Buckinghamshire is 113.6 up until November 26, the latest period the data covers. 

It seems that number is going down after reaching a peak of 162.7 on November 14.

  • Online assessments by NHS Buckinghamshire CCG - 28 

Covid-19 deaths: 

In the week from November 14 to November 20, there were 14 reported deaths from Covid-19. 

In total, up until November 20, there have been 462 deaths of people with a home address in Buckinghamshire.

  • Care homes - 170 
  • At home - 15 
  • Hospice - 2 
  • Other - 3 

The week with the highest number of reported deaths was April 18 to 24, when 71 were reported.
