MPs have approved Covid-19 regulations that implement three tiers of restrictions in England from Wednesday – but how did Bucks' representatives vote?

The result was announced in the chamber as 291 votes to 78, a majority of 213.

This is how Bucks' five MPs voted:

  • Joy Morrissey (Beaconsfield) - voted for new tier restrictions
  • Rob Butler (Aylesbury) - voted for new tier restrictions
  • Greg Smith (Buckingham) - voted for new tier restrictions
  • Dame Cheryl Gillan (Chesham and Amersham) - voted against new tier restrictions
  • Steve Baker (Wycombe) - was a teller for the noes. Tellers are appointed to verify the count when there is a division in the Commons or the Lords and to report the result back to the House. In the House of Commons, tellers are not counted in the totals of those voting for or against a motion. They are, however, taken into account when a quorum is required for a division.

In total, 290 Conservative MPs voted for the new restrictions, while 53 Conservative MPs voted against

Fifteen Labour MPs defied party leader Kier Starmer's calls to abstain from the vote and voted against the restrictions.

Eight Democratic Unionist Party MPs also voted against, as did two independent MPs - Jeremy Corbyn and Julian Lewis.
