A taxi office sandwiched between a busy flyover and some of High Wycombe's most popular pubs and bars could be turned into a family home.

It might not be the most peaceful home, but the Grade II-listed office building at 46 St Mary Street could become a three-bedroom house if new plans are given the go-ahead.

The Tiger Taxis office, which has reportedly been largely empty since November 2015, has the Abbey Way flyover on one side and all the Pauls Row restaurants, bars and pubs on the other.

The front of the potential new home would also look out on the Wycombe Swan car park and the Riverside Club.

According to new plans put forward to Buckinghamshire Council this week, the applicant Sajid Ali says only the ground floor of the building is still used as a communications base for the taxi company, with no drivers going in or out and only one member of staff using it.

If it is allowed to become a three-bed home, it will not have a garden, only a paved area at the back which would be used "for washing, drying and as an amenity area".

There would be no changes to the outside of the historic building and nothing would be altered inside either.

The ground floor would feature a family room at the front of the house, with a bedroom, study, toilet and utility room.

The first floor would house the kitchen, lounge, shower room and toilet, while a second floor would have two more bedrooms.
