A High Wycombe primary school was forced to close earlier this week after a "high number" of teachers have tested positive for Covid-19.
A number of other teachers at The Disraeli School in High Wycombe were also required to self-isolate immediately, which meant the school had to close.
Tributes pour in for Derehams Inn landlady Maggie Sturgess
Tributes have poured in for a beloved landlady whose “untimely” death shocked the community earlier this week.
Margaret ‘Maggie’ Sturgess, 61, landlady at the Derehams Inn, Loudwater, was at the heart of the community, having owned the pub for more than two decades.
She was also previous a landlady at two other High Wycombe pubs – the former Half Moon, in Dashwood Avenue, and the former Rose & Crown, in Wooburn Green.
Backlash over new Cressex Island Aldi and McDonald's – with DIY shop preferred
A local councillor blasted plans for a new discount supermarket and fast-food restaurant in High Wycombe this week.
Cllr Brian Pearce criticised the proposals, saying a new Aldi supermarket at Cressex Island in High Wycombe is the “last thing” needed in that area, and a McDonald’s drive-thru in the same spot would require “immense infrastructure” on connecting highways.
A man who caused thousands of pounds of damage last year to three shop windows in Beaconsfield, assaulted two police officers and trespassed in a bookmakers, was handed a suspended sentence.
The same day, he also attacked two police officers and entered Betfred in Beaconsfield as a trespasser with intent to steal.
Hundreds of nitrous oxide canisters were photographed in a Lidl car park - prompting calls for the to be banned and for “unscrupulous” retailers to understand it is ‘illegal to knowingly sell them for misuse’ by councillors.
Pictures of the spent canisters in the carpark of the Lidl supermarket on West Richardson Street, in High Wycombe, drew criticism from councillors who suggested their sale should be stopped in case their abuse resulted in ‘death’.
