A new dementia care group has been launched in Marlow.

Dementia Action for Marlow, which was set up around two months ago, is aiming to help those living in the area with the condition as well as their carers.

Jen Mason, who is one of the group’s co-founders, said: “Our aims are to provide support, facilitate social interaction with regular contact, arrange small café gatherings, enable friendships between those in similar situations, to provide a voice to improve the information, pathways, help, and support available.

“We aim to be a voice for the people.

“We have during the course of the past year built up a friendly, supportive circle of those living with dementia and their carers, and we are looking to expand our group and welcome anyone who would like to meet up with us.

“We think it is extremely important to help because there is so much said about loneliness, and as you’re restricted to where you can go due to the pandemic, it is helpful to have a phone call with someone.”
