Listed: High Wycombe's worst roads for young drivers

An interactive map shows you where ‘fatal’, ‘serious’ and ‘slight’ cycling accidents have happened in your area by using the latest police and government data.

Crash Map shows that 204 accidents involving young drivers happened in High Wycombe from 2014 to 2019. 

Michelle Harrington, road safety manager at RoSPA, said:

“Drivers aged 17 to 24 make up just seven per cent of UK licence holders, yet are involved in around one in four of all crashes that result in someone being killed or seriously injured.

“This is largely due to inexperience, so it’s vital that young people’s learning experiences on the road are as extensive and involved as possible.”  

In Wycombe Marsh there were 26 accidents from 2014 to 2019, six of which were recorded as 'serious'.

An accident blackspot for young drivers in this area is the London Road junction by Mickfield Road where four accidents occured in the same spot.

The town centre has the highest concentration of crashes compared to the more residential areas of the town. 

There were 65 crashes in this area, with Desborough Road, Oxford Road and the A40 seeing the majority of accidents.

On West Wycombe Road there were 10 crashes over the five year period, with three occurring in the same spot at the Desborough Road junction. 

The Hamilton Road junction on Amersham Road also saw a concentration of accidents over the five year period with four on this road. 

Daws Hill also saw a number of crashes, all of which were 'slight'.
