A thriving new community at Wexham Green on the fringes of Wexham and Stoke Poges is a tribute to the success of an ongoing urban renewal scheme.
In April last year the last of 104 new homes were sold at Wexham Green - 60 per cent of them to first time buyers while nearly half went to local people.
It was one of many schemes carried out by Slough Urban Renewal - a partnership between Slough Borough Council and Morgan Sindall Investments.

Although the schemes mainly affect Slough which is in Berkshire, this particular one also benefits Stoke Poges in Bucks as Wexham Green is on the fringes of where the two counties meet.
The General Manager of Slough Urban Renewal (SUR) Andy Howell has this week spoken of the hurdles faced during 2020 as new working practices had to be introduced so that promised schemes could go ahead in the face of the Covid virus.
