A Sheikh who led prayers at Wycombe Mosque last Friday has tested positive for Coronavirus.

Sheikh Tanveer Hussain tested positive on Sunday (January 10), two days after leading the Jumma Prayer on Friday (January 8).

The Mosque released a statement on their Facebook page, urging anyone who came into close contact with Mr Hussain to self-isolate for ten days.

Places of worship have been allowed to remain open during the third national lockdown.

Government guidance states: "Under the national lockdown, places of worship remain open for communal worship.

"This is now one of the very few legal exemptions that allow larger numbers of people to gather.

"It is therefore crucial that places of worship and those attending comply with both law and the COVID-19 Secure guidance."
