Marlow-based chef, Tom Kerridge, has joined forces with British Airways as his food is set to be enjoyed on short-haul flights by passengers.

The Michelin-starred chef owns three pubs in Marlow – one being the Hand and Flowers, the first 2-Michelin-starred pub in the UK.

Passengers can pick from a menu that includes a selection of sandwiches or a steak and ale pie.

Food must be ordered up to 12 hours before your flight or passengers may not get the meals they want.

The sandwich options include Ham Hock & Smoked Cheddar, Chicken & Bacon Baguette, Soft Brie & Apple Chutney Prouman’s Sandwich, and Spiced Cauliflower Tortilla Wrap costing from £4.10 to £4.40.

The pie is the most expensive option priced at £4.50.

Once flights return to normal after almost a year of airway restrictions following the coronavirus pandemic the menu is set to expand.

British Airways will also attempt to reduce waste from their flights by serving Kerridge’s meals in recyclable packaging.

Tom Kerridge has displayed his delight to have his food up in the skies and he hopies his meals are a perfect addition to in-flight food options.

The celebrity chef said: “I am truly happy to be working with British Airways again, and to have the opportunity to champion the best of British to so many people.

“A sandwich, made with care and great flavours, can be a perfect meal and I hope the passengers enjoy my short haul menu.”

British Airways have also expressed their happiness to work with the celebrity chef and deliver new meals to their passengers.

The airline said: “Our expert teams have worked closely with Tom to create delicious British staples for our short haul menu.

“We know how popular the menus that Tom designed for our centenary were with our customers, so we are delighted to be working with him again and can’t wait for our customers to experience his fantastic new food at 35,000ft.”
