NHS England has published a breakdown of vaccinations by age and region for the first time.
A total of 411,257 jabs were given in the South East between December 8 and January 10.
This included both first and second doses.
A regional breakdown of the jabs can be seen below:
- London: 237,524
- Midlands: 447,329
- Notrth East and Yorkshire: 433,045
- North West: 318,445 in the North West
- South East: 411,257 in the South East
- South West: 285,332
- East: 236,023
There were also 2,452 listed as other, including some people who live in Scotland and Wales.
Around half of all people aged 80 and over in North East England and Yorkshire have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, new figures suggest.
By contrast around three in 10 people aged 80 and over in Eastern England have had their first jab.
Here are the estimates for each region of England, based on the number of first doses given to the 80-plus age group from December 8 to January 10, as published by NHS England, combined with population data from the Office for National Statistics:
- South East: 36 per cent
- North East and Yorkshire: 49 per cent
- South West: 37 per cent
- North West: 36 per cent
- Midlands: 35 per cent
- London: 31 per cent
- East: 30 per cent
Separate figures from NHS England show that nearly a quarter (23 per cent) of all first doses of Covid-19 vaccine in England up to January 7 went to people aged 49 and under.
Just over half (53 per cent) went to people aged 80 and over.
Some 12 per cent went to people aged 50-59, six per cent to those aged 60-69, and six per cent to those aged 70-79.
