As pharmacies begin delivering first doses of the vaccine, NHS England has published a breakdown of vaccinations by age and region for the first time.
The data shows that of the 2,371,407 jabs given between December 8 and January 10, including both first and second doses, 411,257 of them were administered to people living in the South East.

The breakdown by regions:
London: 237,524
Midlands: 447,329
North East & Yorkshire: 433,045
North West: 318,445
South West: 285,332
East of England: 236,023
The figures suggest more than a third of those aged over 80 in the South East have received their first vaccine dose.
Meanwhile, Home Secretary Priti Patel has said that the Government is not bringing in new social distancing restrictions “today or tomorrow”.
Ms Patel stressed that ministers are focusing on increasing the enforcement of current restrictions to keep the spread of coronavirus down rather than bringing in new measures.
Enforcing current lockdown rules
The fines for breaching lockdown rules are called fixed penalty notices and the cost of a first offence is £200, which is lowered to £100 if paid within 14 days.
A second offence could cost you £400, with fines doubling for each further offence up to a maximum of £6,400.
When asked about how many fines were issued in New Years’ Eve, Thames Valley Police did not provide numbers to the Oxford Mail. However, they urge residents to tell on their neighbours if they are suspicious they are breaking the rules.
But Lib Dem council leaders have said this made them ‘distinctly uneasy’.
In a joint letter, they wrote: "It has the potential to encourage division and exacerbate discrimination within our communities. This suggests that we as a democratic and civil society cannot be trusted to do the right thing.”
The councillors said the encouragement to tell on neighbours could result in ‘community spying’ and instead pleaded for Oxfordshire residents to continue social distancing, wearing masks and washing their hands.
