Weapons including a machete, a samurai sword and a saw have been seized following a 10-day operation which was conducted by Thames Valley Police Milton Keynes.

The plan was to have patrols in certain areas of the town to confiscate items such as weapons and drugs, whilst protecting people who are deemed to be vulnerable or victims in violent crimes.

In the last week-and-a-half, 30 stop and searches have been conducted, 13 people have been arrested and numerous items were taken in by the police.

The items include:

• A BB Gun

• Various drugs

• A saw

• A Bike chain

• A Samurai sword

• A Machete

• Bolt cutters

It was also confirmed by TVP MK that the arrests are linked to crimes relating to possession of offensive weapons, domestic violence, drugs possession and supply, theft, driving offences and recall to prison.

They also revealed that ‘bail checks have been completed across the town, support with arrest attempts for violent offenders and vehicle seizures’ have taken place.

In a Facebook post that was published on January 15, they TVP MK said: “This has been a joint approach utilising officers from a variety of units, including Dogs, armed Response, neighbourhood, roads policing and response teams.

“The operation continues, and further estates will be covered.

“You know your neighbourhood better than anyone and know when something doesn’t seem right. If you are worried that someone you know is using violence, is being exploited by drug dealers, or is carrying a knife, please report it.

“We can then take the necessary steps to safeguard them and identify those responsible.
