A secondary school in Great Missenden has received the go-ahead for a multi-million-pound re-development of its sports facilities.

The Misbourne's development will include an indoor sports hall, a performance studio, student changing rooms, staff changing rooms, and extra office space.

In addition to this, there will be a redesign of the student coach drop-off area and a new larger car park for school and community use when hiring facilities.

Building work is expected to last for 18 months and is due for completion in Summer 2022

Ms Jo Meloni, Headteacher of The Misbourne, believes the sports facilities will benefit the local area not just her school.

She said: “This is fantastic news and just the announcement we have been waiting for.

“The new development will provide a significant upgrade to our existing sports facilities and give our community something really exciting to look forward to.

“We have a very strong sports and performance offer for students at all key stages throughout the academy and it will be wonderful to grow this still further with state-of-the-art accommodation.”

“Not only is this exciting news for our existing and future students, but the new facilities will benefit everyone in the local area, providing a much-needed sports hub in Great Missenden.
