A new study has revealed that more than 2,000 new businesses have been registered in Slough since lockdown began last March - an increase of 45 per cent compared to the same period in 2019.

The Capital on Tap credit card company analysed data covering 346 local authorities - discovering that 2,094 new business registered in Slough between March 24 and December 2020 compared with 1,447 the previous year.

It is equal to one new business for every 71 residents and marks a percentage rise of 44.71 per cent.

Windsor and Maidenhead saw 1,247 new businesses start up - a rise of 17.31 per cent and the equivalent of one business for every 121 residents.

Across Bucks there were 4,107 new businesses, a rise of 8.45 per cent and the equivalent of a new business for every 162 people.
