A police chase through High Wycombe has ended with two arrests.

It started at about 4pm yesterday at junction six of the M40 when a black BMW M135i which had been seen driving dangerously failed to stop for roads policing officers.

The car continued to drive dangerously southbound along the M40 at excessive speeds.

It then left the motorway at junction one where it made a return journey to junction four at High Wycombe.

Officers continued to pursue the BMW through High Wycombe for a short period. The two occupants of the vehicle then decamped from their vehicle in Hornbeam Close and were later detained near Fernie Fields Park.

Investigating officer, PC Jonathan Housby, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “I am appealing for anyone who has dash cam footage which shows the vehicle driving dangerously.

“If you have any footage like this, or any other information which could help our investigation, please call us on 101, quoting reference number 4310030953."

A 22-year-old man from High Wycombe has been arrested on suspicion of driving dangerously, failing to stop when required to do so by police and driving while disqualified.

A 22-year-old from High Wycombe has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and aiding or abetting dangerous driving.

They have both been released under investigation.
