A video appearing to show a crash on a slippery High Wycombe hill in yesterday's snow has gone viral on social media.

In a town with so many steep hills, it is unsurprising that there were some crashes in the treacherous conditions on Sunday.

One such crash was caught entirely on camera on what appears to be Hatters Lane - and the video has now gone viral on social media.

It's not clear who took the video in the first place, but it was shared by many Facebook and Twitter accounts, with one post attracting nearly 50,000 'likes' and 1.5 million views.

The 50-second clip shows a silver Smart car pulled over to the side of the road heading down Hatters Lane, while a white VW Tiguan tries to navigate around the pulled-up car by going on the other side of the road.

Meanwhile, a Mercedes continues down the hill, smashing into the Smart car and a parked up on the other side of the road, before hitting a third vehicle further down the road.

Needless to say, one of the homeowner's who witnessed the crash was less than pleased about the situation, commenting that this happens "every year" when it snows.

She added that there had already been three crashes on Hatters Lane that day.

While many speculated about the location, those living in High Wycombe immediately recognised it as Hatters Lane.

One said: "High Wycombe in the snow always treacherous."

Another added: "This is one thing I don’t miss living in High Wycombe when it has been snowing. Majority of the roads are on steep hills, accidents waiting to happen."
