Wycombe Wanderers face Premier League chasing Brentford on Saturday afternoon for the third time this season.

The previous two encounters between the sides ended in draws with the most recent finishing goalless at Adams Park.

The first meeting was Wanderers' opening game of the season away at the Brentford Community Stadium, the first competitive match held at the new ground in the EFL Cup.

After a 1-1 draw, Brentford went on to win the shoot out 4-2 and Wycombe boss, Gareth Ainsworth, knows his team will have to be as competitive this Saturday.

He said: “We’ve had two good games against Brentford.

“It’s at their place, they're very strong and they’ve signed a few more players.

“They’ve got a few players back from injury which they’ll also be putting into their team.

“I watched them on Wednesday night and the games they’ve played recently.

He is also well aware of the threat the Championship top goalscorer can bring with Brentford's Ivan Toney top of the scoring charts with 16 goals.

“They’re a good side without a doubt, they’ve spent a lot of money and it's paid off for them.

“They’ve got one of the best strikers in the division which we are going to have to keep quiet.

“They work on their style of play and their identity really hard so we have to make sure we are competitive.”
