The vaccine centre in Marlow has grabbed the attention of CNN Brazil as the hard work of the volunteers and vaccinators sees the centre receive recognition from across the globe.

A reporter from Brazil broadcasted live from Marlow Globe Park which is being used as a vaccine centre that started vaccinating residents from January 11.

Local IT company, Softcat, offered up a wing of their ground floor offices in Globe Park to be used for the programme.

Ricardo Petraco, a Brazilian cardiologist, who lives in Marlow set up the coverage of the vaccine centre for CNN Brazil after being impressed with how the centre is running at Globe Park.

He said: “CNN Brazil was very impressed by the set up organised by Olivier Picard and the rest of the community.

“It’s a mind-blowing effort of volunteers and vaccinators.

“I have seen many different set ups in London and this is in another level.

“I’m a local Marlovian-Brazilian cardiologist who has been involved in vaccination campaigns, hence why I facilitated CNN cover here.

“Well done all, Marlow should be proud.”

Oliver Picard, who organises the vaccine centre in Marlow was delighted the efforts of his team has been recognised especially by other nations.

“Having a pharmacy-led service is alien to many! Thank you NHS England, Department of Health and Social Care and Keith Ridge, Chief Pharmaceutical Officer for NHS England, for thinking outside the box!”
