Great Missenden named one of the best places to walk in Britain by ITV

One Buckinghamshire village was named one of the best places to walk by on 'ITV’s ‘Britain’s Favourite Walks: Top 100’, a two-and-a-half-hour special presented by Julia Bradbury and Ore Oduba.

The show that was first broadcast in 2018 featured some notorious routes including the Lake District and Ben Nevis - but none other than Great Missenden found itself on the list.

WATCH: Mercedes goes down steep hill and smashes into Smart car

A video that showed a Mercedes sliding down a hill in Wycombe during the snow last week went viral across social media.

In a town with so many steep hills, it is unsurprising that there were some crashes in the treacherous conditions last Sunday.

One such crash was caught entirely on camera on what appears to be Hatters Lane - and the video has now gone viral on social media.

'Strong interest' in empty Eden Shopping Centre units - and big plans for 2 more big brands in town

There are big plans to improve the offering of shops in High Wycombe.

The Topshop and Topman unit in the Eden shopping centre were the latest to be abandoned following the collapse of the Arcadia Group.

That closure follows the shutdown of Dorothy Perkins, Burton, Smiggle and Yours Clothing, leaving many shop units in the centre empty.

But Andrew Norton, Eden Shopping Centre director, told the Bucks Free Press earlier this week that despite the challenges facing retail at the moment, there are plans afoot for those shop units to be replaced.

Bucks teacher found guilty of having sex with 15-year-old student

A teacher was found guilty of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity earlier this week.

Married Kandice Barber, from Wendover, was tried for a second time over allegations that she had sex with a 15-year-old pupil in a field while working as a school cover supervisor.

Amersham Law Courts heard that the 35-year-old had told the boy she would “bring him down with her” if the relationship was discovered, and that she was pregnant with his child.

Jurors took 10 hours and 39 minutes to reach their verdicts.

This is when B&M is opening in High Wycombe

B&M has announced it will be opening its doors to its new High Wycombe store to bargain-hunters.

There was huge excitement among residents when the Bucks Free Press announced earlier this month that B&M was planning to open a store in Red Lion House on the High Street.

It has now been revealed that the opening of the new shop will create more than 35 jobs for local people.
