‘Who is Dave?' - Council calls woman by man's name in response to missed bin collection

There was uproar on social media earlier this week after a woman who challenged the council over her missed bin collection and failed attempts to report it called the authority a “total shambles” when in its response it also called her “Dave”.

In an online exchange last week, the resident complained to Buckinghamshire Council when it failed to collect her food waste for “three weeks”.

Bucks New University student passes away at High Wycombe halls of residence

A Bucks New University student sadly died earlier this week at their High Wycombe halls of residence.

The student tragically passed away at the university's Hughenden Park Student Village.

Their death is not being treated as suspicious or as Covid-19 related.

Little Marlow residents worried about how long Star Wars film set will be around for

Residents in Little Marlow have expressed concerns that a film set which is rumoured to be for a Star Wars TV show could be there longer than planned as Covid-19 affects the filming schedule.

An application for temporary permission for continued use of the Spade Oak nature reserve for film-making purposes between May 1, 2021, and November 1, 2021, has been supported by the Little Marlow parish council.

Sappers Field sinkhole could cost up to £100k to fix

It could cost up to £100,000 to repair a massive cavern that opened up in a field popular with dog walkers, it was revealed earlier this week.

A sinkhole appeared in Sappers Field in Wooburn at the end of February 2020, prompting Wooburn and Bourne End Parish Council to fence off the area and shut the field for safety reasons.

A survey of the huge void in June found that it was a staggering 46 metres deep – and the field has had to stay closed ever since.
