If like me you are a Wycombe Wanderers supporter you probably need a bit of cheering-up, with the team struggling, and we are not able to be there to cheer them on.

So this week’s page of old pictures is for you, the fans.

As the team strive for their next win and the precious three points that would mean, perhaps we can give them a bit of extra encouragement, and also some luck, by showing crowd scenes from matches played at the former Loakes Park stadium during the month of February in the 1950s.

Fans waiting for the FA Amateur cup match between the Wanderers and Pegasus to begin, Feb 26 1955. Over 14,000 spectators attended the game which ended in a 0-0 draw, with the Wanderers winning the replay 2-1, but then losing 1-0 to the old enemy Bishop Auckland:

These fans have come to watch the FA Amateur Cup tie versus Ilford, which Wanderers won 3-1 to move into the quarter-final. The match attracted 10,000 supporters and these are standing at the Loakes Rd end of the ground, Feb 5 1955:
