A historic five-star hotel has submitted plans for a major new development on the site.

The proposal for the Stoke Park estate in Stoke Poges includes a new restaurant, a mixed-use activities centre and an outdoor swimming pool.

The activities centre extension would give the hotel the opportunity to 'add more sport and games activities' alongside a covered space for supervised young children and for those in the hotels' creche.

Developers have said that the new activities centre would be for members or residents only and would not be open to the general public.

It would be built to the side of the existing indoor tennis court building currently on the site.

The 'Wintergarden' restaurant would be 255 square metres in size and would allow the hotel to serve guests outside all year round.

The plans state that the restaurant would take the form of a 'lightweight, predominantly glazed structure which fills the gap between the two adjacent buildings'.

Again, the restaurant would only serve members or residents and not the general public.

Finally, the plans for a new outdoor swimming pool and accompanying changing room building would be built to in order to meet increased demand, to provide more space for swimmers to adhere to Covid guidelines and to provide an 'alternative ambience and experience'.

A 25m long swimming pool is proposed, alongside two children’s splash pools to the east next to the existing creche building.

Oncemore, the facilities would not be available for the general public to use.
