Local businesses have been playing their part in the running of the Marlow vaccine centre.

From pubs to tech companies there has been a raft of support for the centre as local businesses offer their services to help the site run as smoothly as possible.

Softcat, an IT company based at Globe Park , offered up their brand new offices and car park to host the centre and have helped with cleaning duties at the end of each day.

Even assisting in clearing the snow, the pharmacy leader at the centre Olivier Picard has commended Softcat for the part they’ve played in the set-up.

Olivier said: “Softcat have been amazing.

“They have made the service look so professional and people are very happy to come here and have their vaccine done.”

Softcat Managing Director, Richard Wyn Griffith, who lives in Marlow has encouraged other local businesses to offer their services to the vaccine rollout.

He said: “It is brilliant to see the impact that the centre is having and what a great experience those who attend are enjoying thanks to Olivier, the staff and the volunteers.

“I live locally to Marlow myself and have heard nothing but positive feedback from those people I’ve met who have been vaccinated there.

“With community at our core, and with our building currently empty it seemed an easy way for us to demonstrate our support for the NHS and their continued efforts.

“Where possible, and in conjunction with the NHS and local pharmacy groups, we would certainly urge other local businesses to consider doing the same so the vaccine can be rolled out even faster.”

Other local businesses have played their part too as the pub Prince of Wales brought hot food to volunteers whilst a Marlow coffee van offered drinks.

Around the centre signs have been printed by a local printer and Olivier Picard hopes a successful vaccination programme will see local businesses return to normal as quickly as possible.

Olivier Picard added: “We have been incredibly fortunate to be supported by many businesses.

“I think that's what I mean when I say the community has come together, it's everyone, not just the residents, but the businesses supporting each other as well.

“We hope that by vaccinating all these people, businesses can return to usual as soon as possible.”
