CALLS have sounded for the highways authority to help clean a vandalised county sign after locals made a first attempt.

Richings Park Residents’ Association urged Transport for Buckinghamshire (TfB) to put right a sign on North Park near Iver, which vandals had defaced by spray painting over the ‘B’ in Buckinghamshire with an ‘S’.

“The creativity of local vandals has no end,” tweeted Richings Park Residents’ Association.

“Residents of Richings Park tried to clean this off but looks like a job for the professionals @BucksCouncil. Reported on FixMyStreet.”

They added: “It is on North Park as you head into Richings Park from Langley.”

A TfB spokesman said: "Transport for Buckinghamshire is aware of the defaced sign on North Park and can confirm it has received the report. It is on the list to be cleaned as soon as possible, but will be prioritised against urgent safety repairs to our roads following the recent heavy rainfall, flooding and snow events."
