This week, we have rounded up five of the most interesting planning applications that have been submitted to Buckinghamshire Council for decision.

They include a development of up to 50 homes in High Wycombe and plans to turn a stable block into four new houses in Chalfont St Giles.

Limmer Lane, High Wycombe - up to 50 homes

The land off Horns Lane is owned by Buckinghamshire Council and they initially outlined plans for 62 homes here.

However, the plans have now been submitted, and that number has been reduced to 50.

There will also be a network of pedestrian routes introduced.

The field, which is surrounded by Horns Lane, The Paddocks and Linnet Close and is near the M40, used to be in the Green Belt but it was removed as part of the Wycombe District Local Plan and allocated for housing instead.

Belmont House, High Street, Lane End - changing an office into flats

An office building in Lane End High Street could be converted into one one-bed flat and one two-bed flat.

Agents acting for the applicants Mr and Mrs Hucks say the change of use would be “less intensive” in terms of traffic than an office.

Newland Park Stables, Gorelands Lane, Chalfont St Giles - turn a stable block into four homes

The stables are within the curtilage of Newland Manor, a Grade II listed building.

Comer Homes want to refurbish the stables into residential homes and there will need to be some alterations to the building, including new doors and subdivision of larger spaces to allow for smaller rooms like bathrooms.

They say the plans will repair the historic building fabric and will return it to good use.

Stoke Park hotel, Stoke Poges - new restaurant, activity centre and outdoor pool

The luxury five-star hotel wants to make some big changes on site, including an extension to the existing spa pavilion to create a “wintergarden” restaurant, an activity centre next to the tennis courts and an outdoor pool with changing rooms.

The hotel says the works represent the “continuation of the process of improvement and restoration that began some 30 years ago when the then shambolic and neglected estate was acquired”.

Farnham Park Baseball Complex, Beaconsfield Road, Farnham Royal - 3G synthetic baseball and softball pitch

The existing grass and clay baseball and softball pitch could be replaced with a 3G synthetic carpet system instead.

Farnham Park Baseball and Softball Complex is the only purpose-built Baseball and Softball facility in the UK. It was opened in 2013.

The applicants say of the plans: “Installing an artificial turf baseball/softball field at Farnham Park presents an opportunity to uplift the quality of the facilities at the complex, benefitting the local community and elite baseball/softball for many years to come.”
