Rebellion Beer is encouraging customers to get involved in a project that would see all 1-litre bottle become fully re-useable.

If all the newly produced bottles are used over 40% of the Marlow brewery’s beer sold through the shop, drive-through, and home delivery will be in returnable, reusable containers.

Currently 100,000 bottles a year are used so this initiative would significantly reduce the amount of glass needing to be recycled or ending up in a landfill.

The company has invested in an automatic bottle washer and new special heavy duty glass bottles with swing tops, capable of being washed and refilled many times over.

Customers also get a 30p discount for each bottle they return as Rebellion look to reward customers who return bottles and help sustain the project.

It is also claimed the beer will also taster better as the dark bottle excludes light which is known to promote beer aging and the new swing top helps to reduce the amount of oxygen in the bottle.
